The measure of success of these new Valley Services will not be how many people are attending - though happily lots have been coming. The point of it all is to help us to respond to our vocation in Christ - the fact that God is calling each and every one of us to a purpose for our lives and for our world, way bigger than our own small agendas.

I hope we are discovering, as we worship together, that the love of God puts everything in a new light, and compels us, in the best possible way, to look beyond our own small ambitions.

Even in the lovely Hambleden Valley, people need the gospel 'good news' - and we certainly need more good news in the wider world - we just forget sometimes that we are the people who could make all the difference.

Come and see what it is like, either at the more traditional services in the morning - or at Valley Praise in the evening.

You may be surprised.
