Weddings

We are delighted to marry couples in the churches of the Hambleden Valley,
however we are not legally allowed to marry everyone who asks. The law
requires that one of the couple has a historical or geographical link with
one of the churches in the group, as listed below. If you have a link with
one church in the group you will be able to be married in any of the churches.
  • You live in the parish now.
  • You are on the church electoral roll (the formal register of regular church
    members).
  • You were baptised or prepared for confirmation in the parish.
  • You have at any time lived in the parish for 6 months or more.
  • You have at any time regularly attended public worship in the parish for 6
    months or more.
  • One of your parents has, during your lifetime, lived in the parish for 6
    months or more.
  • One of your parents has, during your lifetime, regularly attended public
worship in the parish for 6 months or more.
  • Your parents or grandparents were married in the parish
If any of the above apply and you are interested in being married in one of
our churches, please download and fill our initial application form, and
return it to the Revd John Wigram. If you have any queries about the above
criteria or being married in our churches,
please contact John on 01491 571231, revjohn@wigram.org.uk
